WAR RED BARON

(Sweet's Baybarry x WAR Prairie Wind)
2013 chestnut stallion, 100% Foundation

This stallion is helping me achieve my goal of producing exceptional Morgan cow horses. His bloodlines on both sides are rich with cowy Morgans and it is with great excitement that we are beginning to start his get under saddle! They are proving to be pleasant, willing, extremely smart and a lot of fun! The only drawback is he is seldom producing them in black and he sure adds some chrome! But between his easy going disposition and his offspring's smarts I just keep using him! His main job now is siring very nice colts after a start in the western dressage show ring and ranch work. He is very willing and very interested in keeping cows moving and has a great natural cutting ability. He is crossing perfectly with the mares here and producing really fun horses to ride!

WAR JUSTALENT

(Rimlo Black Talent x WAR Justina)
1996-2016 black stallion

When I became the principle breeding manager of WAR Morgans back in 2011, my Aunt Elaine (pedigree expert around here!) told me I needed to find WAR Justalent and bring him home! I had vague memories of this stallion, sold at age 3 in 1999, but more knew the name as I remembered my Grandmother Ruby showing me a photo of him with a row of kids lining his back sent from his new owners some years after he left Kansas. Plus his dam WAR Justina still remains the best producer of cow horses here, so already knew I would love to ride him! I did some searching and found him in Indiana with the same family he was purchased by back in 1999! He was 16 or 17 when I first made inquiries and over the course of a couple years, his current owner, Mark Holsher (son of the original buyer) and I agreed to move him back home to his birthplace. He arrived late summer 2015 at the age of 19 years. He was amazing! Having worked on a cattle ranch all his life, he was fantastic and went right to work here. He singlefooted and was the best horse to cover miles of range in a hurry- he never took his time which is a very sought after attribute for this particular rider! He was cow savvy and ever so gentle to handle. He was a perfect gentleman when riding with mixed company and was a dream to tag baby calves off of- not even minding a confused little calf running under his belly! I was impatient for his first pasture breeding season to end here in 2016 as I was that anxious to get to partner with him working cattle again, when tragically he was lost due to an apparent lightning strike very early in the season. I still miss riding him on those long pasture gathers...

WAR TALADAN

(Rimlo Black Talent x WAR Dandalena)
1997 black gelding

Dandalena’s last stud colt and a certain credit to his bloodlines. Cedarcrest Dynamic was a descendant of Pecos; two daughters of his, WAR Justina and WAR Dandalena bred on here at the ranch. This grandson is true black and true moving, as well as having a classic Morgan silhouette. Indy Penny was our only connection to Yakima Hawk, the biggest and boldest of the Top Flight x Bird S. Sentney cross of the 60’s. Taladan is not big, but he’s good and has stamped all his offspring, including his producing daughters here at the ranch with that outstanding classic Morgan type! He did double duty as a ranch horse while he was standing at stud and now has retired to full time stock horse duty. He has exceptional cow sense and great drive. NFS
